Shabby Chic Flower Tutorial. How to make Flowers Saturday!!

Here is a step by step instructional tutorial on How to make these
Shabby Chic Flowers.. I was taught to make these on Gabrielle Pollacco blog Such a Pretty Mess, this is my version of it.

First this is a card that I made featuring the flower.. if you browse down below I have also made this on a layout.

Sending you a little Happy.

Here are the steps.. I will have written instruction below.

1. cut two different circles, I have cut 2.5 and 1.5 inch circles of card stock.
2. now tear the edges of the circles. you will have both circles with torn edges.
3. make sure you save the torn off piece
4. take a piece of the torn off and crumple it to a small ball. save this ball.
5.tear the circle in 5 slits not , just going to the middle without ripping it fully
6.now curl the raw torn edges.. crumple if you need ..just distress it with your fingers.
7. now once both are done.. you need to place a bit of glue on the bigger one. or a glue dot.
8. place the smaller piece on top of the larger piece.
9. cut some twine about 1 inch.. you will need 3 or 4 of these.
10. on the small flower place some glue in the center of the flower, placing the twine pieces on top.
11.a little more glue and add that ball of paper that you saved.
12. using a small flower punch, punch out one flower.

13. here is your small flower
14. glue your flower on a piece of plain card stock , and cut out a circle.
15. Ink the edges of the circle.
16. place the circle in the palm of your hand.
17. in a circular motion with your finger curve the circle.
18. this is what you should have .
19. place more glue on the top of the ball of torn paper.
20. place your circle flower paper on top of it.. and let dry.
21. this is the finished flower.

Change it up

To change up the center of the flower.. just add another flower and with the scraps of torn circles.. just roll them and glue the finished end , I took 2 of the colours and made it alittle different.. and love the results. Wonderful not to have to throw out any of the scraps and what a great flower to just do about anything with, card or layout even a summer paper wreath would be cool.

You can make these in many colours and sizes.. it is a great homemade flower to add to your layouts and cards. hope you try this on your next project.. I am off to make more!!

Have a great Saturday and a wonderful weekend.

CP4U- Quilt Styling!!

This weeks Prompt is a fun one at Creative Prompts 4U.. It is all about challenging you to do some quilting fun.. and the twist is to do it using the theme Mother's.. it can be your mom, someones mom or yourself .. I decided to do something different and did a monochromatic layout using only white and black for my title.. hope you like it!!

Faces Only A Mother Could Love

The Details.. using my Marvy scalloped square punch I punched some white cardstock and the photo's cuttlebugging the white squares with 3 different folders.. then placing them in a quilt pattern. I just love using white on white with all different textures.. I personally think it give is alot of depth with no colour.

For the butterflies.. I used my Cuttlebug Butterfly die and folder.. this is one of my all time favourite dies.. and the Martha Stewart small Butterfly Punch.. and added some pearls for detail on the top.

Now go check out the other wonderful projects that the Creative Crew has come up with.. I am sure they will be full of inspiration to make you join us in this challenge.. more details can be found on the CP4U blog.. see you there!!

How To Make FLOWERS... 3-D Tulip flower tutorial

How to make Flowers.. I just decided to start an album on how to make Flowers.. Every page will feature a flower and the instructions. I am hoping that every Saturday I will feature a new flower technique.. some made and cut by hand, some using other craft material and some using die cutting machines like the cricut or MM Slice.

Today I am going to teach you to make a 3-D Tulip flower.

Start by cutting out several sizes of tulips.. I cut.. 2 inch, 1.5 inch and 1 inch flowers. You can do all the same colour of mix it up and do 2 different shade of a colour.

If you have a MM slice I used the basic 3 and got my image.. if not just cut your own.

Using some brown ink.. or whatever ink you want I inked up all the edges of the flowers.

This is what it will look like all inked up.

Start layering them on top of each other.. using a glue dot on the bottom of the flower to hold it together. Start by putting the largest ones first.

I curled the ends of the flower.. to make sure nothing moves I just stapled all the flowers together.. this is optional you don't have to do this. All I used was a paper stub and gently rolled them in, you can use a tooth pick if you want.

Once it is all curled and layered the way you want.

I took a felt flower and cut it in half.. on half had 3 petals and the other had 2. I then layered these on top of each other. and with a piece of paper or even a green pipe cleaner I made the stem. and you have this wonderful 3-D Tulip Flower.

Hope you give this one a try on your next layout of card.. this is what it looks like on a layout!

Have a wonderful Creative Saturday.

TGF... buttons!!

Time for this weeks TGF Scrapbooking Challenge... Buttons.. Buttons.. Buttons!!

Last week I received Sydney's spring school photo.. and she smiled in this one!! I was so happy. The first school photo she had a sad, sad confused at why a total stranger was taking a photo of her and not her mother face.. and we didn't take the package, even though secretly I wanted too!!
I was thrilled that she smiled for this one.. and I just had to create a layout using this photo..

JK

The Details..

using the grid stamp.. I just decided to use one of them for the top with one of those black and white butterflies.. I love the butterfly stamp!!

Seeing that the challenge this week was to use buttons, buttons, buttons.. I used these purple buttons to create a border on the side of the photo.. and one for the top butterfly. I had these great K&Company die cut flowers and the colours were just too perfect for this layout. So I cut them in half and inked the edges.. layered them and placed the photo on top.. just love this look with the added butterflies.

Now it is time to hop on over to The Greeting Farm blog to check out the rest of the SB design team. Remember to take the challenge and play along . Have a wonderful day!!

something wonderful. SO without babbling on I will show you what I made for the
SSC WaCkY WeDneSdaY Challenge.

CREATE

Using some clear recycled plastic I cut out the triangles and sewed the different patterned papers on.. Using my MM Slice card Animal Crackers I made all the flowers except the pipe cleaner flower.. that I also made. Using some pompom ribbon I added another fun texture . Hole punching the sides of the triangles and threading some yellow ribbon I have my finished Banner... Oh I just love it!! I hope you join us over at SSC to try out this challenge!! Ippity .. Snippity ..HOP!! It sounds so magical.. almost like a Disney movie, magic, special.. you want something to appear that is wonderful and makes everyone smile.. really big!!

Well.. I am smiling this weekend. I thought I would have lots of time to play, seeing that the Wonderful Ippity Chick Stephanie Zito.. granted my wish for the new sets.. and got them to me in a span of 24 hours.. It was Ippity... Snippity.. FAST!!!

I put them away and had to calm down before I could ink any of them up.. It was like getting lots of candy.. you are holding them in your hand and you are already on a sugar rush.. because there is so much yumminess all at once. That was me.. so finally Sunday came and I just had to dive in.. this was the first image that I wanted to ink up.. Flowers.. we all know I love flowers!! So here is my first creation using the new set..NOW and ALWAYS.. I just love these flowers!!

thinking of you now and always.

Friends With Flair... projects I have made using Unity and Ippity.

Hip Hop.. every week Hip Hop gets better and better.. I must say Thursday's are one of my favourite days in the week again!! I also love Fridays cause I get to show you what I have been up too... Today I am showing you some Unity and Ippity creations..Some I have done in the posts below for my other DT projects and I don't get to show them off twice.. and most of this will be completely new to you !!

This is a layout I did this week.. Using my Unity stamps and the Unity sketch turned sideways.. I think it is the 4th scrapbooking sketch by Renee..
This was a great weekend, I got to meet so many wonderful people at Scrapfest in April.. (see Kimber and I, she is wearing the yellow top.) I can't wait for the next one in October..

I just love this card. love this bird image and sentiment..

This is also one of those images that are all so yummy to look at and colour. It is Berry Adorable.

Here are some Ippity.. I just got this set from Stephanie Zito in the mail yesterday and I had to ink it up.. Both cards are using the set Devoted.. the bubble is from Sweet Thoughts of Spring. This is also for the lace challenge.

I also did this for the Colour Challenge by Lisa A. I loved her inspiration with the butterflies so much that I had to repeat it in my card.. this was just too perfect!! Even look the bling butterflies were the only three I had left in the colours I needed.. talk about fate!! The only thing different is that when I posted the card on the SCS site it was all white and had to change it.. the backing was too weak so I placed it on some purple cardstock.. I love how it looks .. funny how I just had to do that.. okay maybe just crazy on my part!!

Thanks for looking today.. it is time to hop on over to the Unity Blog and see what the other participants in today's hop did.. I am sure there will be lots of inspiration today..

Hope you all have a Fabulous weekend!!
