Maybe you saw this on the Authentique Blog on Friday ,
I wanted to share it here on my blog as well and some other Projects I made for
this special Handmade Holiday Blog Hop..

Merry

Now for some of my new Holiday AUTHENTIQUE Creations.

I decided to make some fun Christmas Canvas Art. Mixed Media style.
Adding stencils, mod podge, and tons of wonderful papers from
 Authentique's Peaceful collection.

These are all 6x6 canvas's perfect for displaying in your home Christmas decor even better for
that special Christmas gift you want to give this year..
Even the scarf and bird are from the papers..I just coloured them with my red copic marker
and paper pieced to fit my snowmen.  I added some textured paste with chunky glitter
to make the snow.. it turned out wonderfully. Then adding some 3D objects from my
Christmas wreath stash.. to add the Christmas Whimsy.

winter JOY

Here are some very basic and easy instructions.
1. get your canvas and cut out the size of papers you want to use. I have mine cut to the exact
size of my canvas. Adhere them with a decopauge medium. I used Mod Podge. let dry.
2. Using some textured paste a doily stencil and some paint to tint my textured paste.
add a little drop of paint to your textured paste, blend. place stencil or template on the covered
paper canvas , apply the textured paste, remove the stencil and let dry.
3. with a fiskars circle punch cut a 3 inch and a 2.5 inch circle for the body of your snowman.
paper piece a hat , scarf and hands, don't forget the nose.
distress these items, colour with inks or transparency paints on the items you want to have colour.
Adhere with mod podge. add bling for eyes and buttons. let dry.
4. take some textured paste, white paint and mix, add them to the areas you want to show snow.
add chunky glitter on top of snow , dab lightly with fingers and let dry.
5. add 3D decor items, add sticker words and letters . Add pearls of snowflakes.
6. Mod Podge everything and let dry.
you can repeat these steps for all your canvas's, just cut different images to use.

You can see how amazing the sides look using the paper instead of just painting it.

Here is another Canvas Art piece I made.. this time making a layered fringe Christmas tree.
adding the textured paste to the fringe for snow.

This is also a great way to add some of Authenique's Stickers.. you can lightly colour the image if you like.. I did just that with the pine and birds in the quote.
Everything was sealed with Mod Podge.

My third Canvas.. was basically the same as the first.. just a different snowman with a different
scarf and hat. .. can you tell my house it filled with Snowmen??.. I just love them.
I also love the 12x8 sticker sheets using the letters to make my title on the snowman canvas's.

frosty LOVE

I hope you enjoyed my handmade Canvas ART .. give it a try these papers from the Peaceful Collection are just wonderful for this type of mixed media art..

  20. Angie,
I love snowmen, too. But we don't see too many down here in south Texas, except in my house for Christmas and New Years. MY snowmen and I celebrate all the way to Valentines Day, before they go "nitey-nite" in the decorations closet. Thanks for sharing your canvas art designs.
