Peace OUT !!! some Unity Love Bugging!!

Happy Friday!! I love Friends With Flair Fridays!!! Where did this week go.. not sure but I am glad it is Friday!! Today is the last day of My son's exams.. Grade 9 a first for so many things and this is one of them. It has been strange to have the kids home this week. Sydney was sick and Alex was home by 10:30 am everyday.. very strange!!
I had the funniest dream on Wednesday night..I couldn't get the image of the LOVE BUG out of my head.. I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve with this stamp. I wanted to do something groovy, so this morning I got to work on this card. I first inked the image on white cardstock.. then with some floral paper I cut strips of tiles out. inked them up and stuck them on top of the image.. I then stamped the image on top of the tiled area and cut out.. I think it was the look I was going for in my dream.. funny how that happens. Now here is my card.

Peace OUT!!

{Ippity} Hopping!!.. Happy Monday

Last Monday if you saw the challenge on the Ippity Blog, we were to create a project using some glitz.. and I love me some glitter and bling.. so I decided to do another Valentines card using the Alphabetically Adorable set and the bracket from the Life's little Moments set.. I just love this paper from Scenic Route and I added some glitter on the letters and some pearl bling on the bracket.
The other project I wanted to do something totally different, seeing that my brother is getting married on Valentines day this year I wanted to do a money gift card and to spice it up I wanted to put it in this purse.. don't think my brother would like the purse thing but I know his Bride will love it. I got the template on Mel Stampz blog( I have her on my side bar if you want to check her out) I was with a friend this weekend and she had these stamps and I stamped the flower image out. It is the Because of you set and I think I so need this one really soon. If you go onto the {Ippity} Blog you will find a whole bunch of talented participants hopping along with me today.. go check out the awesome creations and see what challenge is up for today!!

I was lucky enough to have both of these featured on the {Ippity Blog on Sunday} Thanks Eva!!

XOXO.. Valentines card

Forever and Always.. card and purse.

Have a Happy Monday.

Thinking Summer... FWF

I guess with it being so cold outside I have summer on the brain!! I just love that time of the year and my favourite place to go is North Beach.. The sand is white and wonderful, not that stony sand we get here, close to where we live. The lake is clean and I can spend the whole day playing and in the water swimming. I am a beach bum at heart!! I don't care how dark I get and for me it only takes a half hour in sunshine to get really dark. My kids love going there as well, Sydney loves playing all day in the sand, she is not so much a water person at this age, the waves seem to scare her. I am sure that will change. This day we spent lounging with Cousins.. that came for a visit from Montreal. Here is Sydney and Jade sitting, soaking in the sun. I had to get down really low to capture these photo's. I wanted the sand and the background of that beautiful day.
Using four of the stamps from the December Scrapbooking/Collage Kit. I must say these kits are my favourite stamps , seeing that I do more layouts than cards and there is so much you can do with them. Right now Angela has the January Kit available and I really want that one as well...I love creating with these kits. The flowers just make me so happy..and you can view the tutorial here. My friend Calia does a great job and it is easy to follow, love these flowers!!

For more inspiration go check out the Unity Blog where you will find lots of great inspiration!!

Here is the layout!! Using a December Sketch from the So Sketchy blog.

Being Crafty on a Sunday.. Flower Power.

Well honestly I am not bored.. just all last night I was thinking oh I would love some of these great newspaper flowers that are so hot now.. but you know I have put myself on a NO SPENDING BUDGET.. especially if I can figure out a way to make it myself. Guess what, I did!!
This is what I came up with.. don't they look good. I love them!!
It is really easy and you have some newspaper and a printer then you get the look even better on cardstock. scroll down for directions.

Newspaper Flowers

Here we go!!

First get a piece of newspaper with whatever you want..just lots of words, scan it into your computer, and print off on both sides of white cardstock.

Cut to size and place it on your sticky sheet of your Cricut Machine.. you can skip this step if you have 3 different sizes of a flower punch, I just don't have any flower punches so this is what I use ( thank you Roger... DH gave me this last year)

I used the Walk in the Garden Cartridge, did 6 flowers at 2", 6 flowers at 1.2" and 6 flowers at 1"... cut them and take them off your mat. I also inked them all in brown and black ink.

Cut all the 1.2" flowers from the center of one petal to the center of the flower.

With the 1" flower cut all like this.

with a good adhesive fold and put one petal on the other to form a cone like shape.

do the same with the 3 petal 1" flower

roll the 2 petal flower.. add adhesive to bond together.
Now start to build it.. the 2" at the bottom, use some tacky glue and place the cone shaped 1.2" flower now do the same with the 3 petal cone 1" flower and last the rolled 1" flower. set it dry and there you go instant Newspaper Flowers . I hope I explained this properly and if you have any questions just leave me a comment and I will get back to you all.

Here is the finished look!

Hope you all try this, it was tons of fun and I didn't have to go out and spend any money BONUS!!

Happy Sweet Sunday!!
Hugs,
Angie
