Being Crafty on a Sunday.. Flower Power.

Well honestly I am not bored.. just all last night I was thinking oh I would love some of these great newspaper flowers that are so hot now.. but you know I have put myself on a NO SPENDING BUDGET.. especially if I can figure out a way to make it myself. Guess what, I did!!
This is what I came up with.. don't they look good. I love them!!
It is really easy and you have some newspaper and a printer then you get the look even better on cardstock. scroll down for directions.

Newspaper Flowers

Here we go!!

First get a piece of newspaper with whatever you want..just lots of words, scan it into your computer, and print off on both sides of white cardstock.

Cut to size and place it on your sticky sheet of your Cricut Machine.. you can skip this step if you have 3 different sizes of a flower punch, I just don't have any flower punches so this is what I use ( thank you Roger... DH gave me this last year)

I used the Walk in the Garden Cartridge, did 6 flowers at 2", 6 flowers at 1.2" and 6 flowers at 1"... cut them and take them off your mat. I also inked them all in brown and black ink.

Cut all the 1.2" flowers from the center of one petal to the center of the flower.

With the 1" flower cut all like this.

with a good adhesive fold and put one petal on the other to form a cone like shape.

do the same with the 3 petal 1" flower

roll the 2 petal flower.. add adhesive to bond together.
Now start to build it.. the 2" at the bottom, use some tacky glue and place the cone shaped 1.2" flower now do the same with the 3 petal cone 1" flower and last the rolled 1" flower. set it dry and there you go instant Newspaper Flowers . I hope I explained this properly and if you have any questions just leave me a comment and I will get back to you all.

Here is the finished look!

Hope you all try this, it was tons of fun and I didn't have to go out and spend any money BONUS!!

Happy Sweet Sunday!!
Hugs,
Angie
