The Art of WIld Abandoment Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone.. so glad you are all here , you should have come over from

 Claire Smillie's Blog

 where she will be posting the participants for today's blog hop.. we have a ton of peeps from our on line class participating and showing you our creations we made during this class.. this was one of my favourite classes to take and I want to give a special thanks to my wonderful friend Junelle Jacobson for being the best teacher out there.. she is truly inspirational and God's gift to us all!! Thank you also to Christy Tomlinson for making this all possible.. you two are so wonderful and talented.

So here are my creations up to date..

 Now those were my pages in my Art Journal..I am not going to get into any details, because if the class if offered again, which I am sure it will be , I want you to take it and learn first hand by what Junelle and Christy will teach you.. it is AMAZING, worth every penny!!

 I am still going through the classes,  it is a slow process and I want to savour each week slowly.. good thing you can get in it for a whole year!! .. this class also gave me the inspiration for making these wood pieces below.. these are my hand drawn sketch stamps that I have made for Unity Stamp Company.. I just love that they have the look and feel of something hand drawn..  It is a wonderful way that I can share with the public a piece of my art that

 they can take and make it their own !!

I just love that!! You can buy these on the Unity Website under the Ippity collections!!

Sketch Art Tuesday.. on a Wednesday!

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay.. but it was such a busy Tuesday

I was busy doing a video for Unity TV.. that I will post on Friday.. and life happens.

So I am doing Sketch Art Tuesday on a Wednesday!!.

I thought I would do this after the kids were asleep.. but then..haha I fell asleep.. and

was wide awake at 3:30 am.. figures!!

So here I was painting and doing my post..

Today I am going the opposite way.. and doing a art journaling page.

I usally do it this way.. where I start with a blank canvas ( or page)

paint and then sketch!

Today it is all about Poppies..

I just love Poppies!!

My most favourite colour is turquoise ( aqua) , any shade of this blue!!

I start by covering my page with this colour.. this is a shiny paint so you will see

some shine to it!!

 then with some green acrylic paint I put down some lines... not perfect lines!!

Now comes the red.. just wavy circles.. and some wonky small oval shapes..

I do this in three layers.. drying with my heat gun the first 2 times and letting it dry naturally the third... you will see if you use the heat gun you will get some bubbly parts.. I like those parts best..it give it texture!

This is it dry!

Now the fun part of sketching my poppies.. I just go with the flow of the paint.. adding some layers to the petals so it doesn't look flat!

for the insides of the flowers. I used my Faber Castell Big Brush artist pen in black to fill in the centers.. this drys quick !

here is a different angle of my piece.. I added some white gelato Faber Castell to the background.. so the texture of the paint stood out more.. this is the effect of the heat gun.. nothing else.. love that!

the added white is actually a Martha Stewart opaque marker.. it goes on like paint.. and it gave me the perfect with dotted accents.

So try sketching this way in your Art journal..

 put the paint down first..

keep it simple ,

 use all your favourite colours..

 and see where it takes you

H{ippity} Hop March Challenge the "TWIST"

Good Morning everyone.. hope your weekend was full of fun. It was such a busy week here and the weekend was even more. The kids were off for spring break and we had visitors everyday.. so it was a nice busy time. So last night I finally got to do some projects.. I wanted to do a page in my ART journal. I just love the process of splashing paint on a surface and getting creative.

For Week two of the H{ippity} Hop Challenge we were introduced to some fantastic colour combinations and I want to add those colours in my journal.. so Spring like.

Using some of the stamps from the Fall 2010 Ippity Release I made this page.. I used the heart flower stamp from the How You Doin'? set, The Post and the flowers from the Cherish Your Dreams set, The family stamp from the Here and Now set. I have all the colours melded together with a pop of the pink.

For this weeks H{ippity} HOP challenge (IHHTC3) comes the fun part..

it is the TWIST and we are to use some

hand stitching on our project..

Using a very thick needle and some wonderful Twinery Bakers Twine I stitched on this Spellbinders die cut piece.

inking and stamping the family stamp around on the petals. finishing it off with a MM pink brad.
