if you have come here from Eryn's blog you are in the right spot.. if not go to the Unity blog not to miss all the creativeness from all the Unity and Ippity Design Teams.
I also want to welcome you to my Growing In Unity day 4
I have some stamped art for you today.. Using stamps from three different sets of Ippity stamps.
I also used some yummy Echo Park papers paper piecing the flowers.

Be Faithful...

you can get a better look at the stampes here.

Here is how I made the Art Piece...
first get a piece of canvas.. this one is 4x6 and you can get these at the dollarstore 3 for $1.oo
Ink your Gurnsey Gingham in a light colour.. and stamp the canvas background. Ink up your sentiment from the Cherish Your Dreams set with some memento ink.. and ink your sprig branches from your Sing a New Song set.. using the memento ink.. paper piecing the Echo Park papers and adhering it with some tacky glue.. also adhere the rolled flowers and cuttlebuged butterfly. and you will have a beautiful piece of ART for someone special for Christmas , Valentine's Day even Mother's Day.. this would be a great gift for any occasion.

Now it is time to check out the Beautiful Eva.. I am sure she has some wonderful project to share with us all..
Thanks so much for stopping by.. I wish you all a happy and fun Christmas.
God Bless.

Have you all been busy getting prepared, shopping done, baking... well today will start another day of cleaning and wrapping. Tomorrow will be another cookie baking day, I am glad I made some batches and kept them in the freezer for easy baking. I am also looking forward to tomorrow night when we take our traditional drive with the kids to see all the beautiful Christmas lights in the neighbourhood. Myself and Roger have been doing this way before kids.. we just love looking at the lights displayed on all the homes.
Now here is my December Daily for yesterday.
December 21, 2010

A day of playing games.. the kids having the same old ...." I want to play a game on this TV" we have a TV in nearly every room and a game system on 3 of them.. funny kids!!

For my side cover I photo copied the Starbucks bag of the season and made this page... added the ornaments and sticker sentiment. ( Melissa Frances, October Afternoon)

On the other side is the actual bag with some photo's inside.. One being the cup of Chai Latte my hubby surprised me with yesterday.. love him for thinking of me. Also a photo of Sydney making her own wrapping paper and watching Caillou on TV.. a multi tasker she is!

The last page is a photo of my sweet girl.. all day long carring this blanket around.. I just love this.. checking out the tree with her kitties in hand.

Today is also Growing in Unity day 3... It is also the Unity's Addict Challenge.. hosted by the wonderful and talented Maria.. She does such a wonderful job every week. love ya Maria!!
I also got the chance this week to create the Challenge for Unity's Addict Challenge . So make sure you check it all out.. HERE
For the Challenge it is to stamp on a gift bag or make your own gift wrapping paper.. easy and a fun project .. even to get the kids involved in!!
Here is mine!!
I got these Kraft bags from our local Dollarama.. you get 3 for $1.oo can't beat that price.. I use some K&Company papers to decorate and Using the Ippity Season of Joy snowflakes to embellish the bag. Inking in black, green and red. I also made the snowflake tag for the front.
For the wrapping paper on the gift in the back.. I used some of the Kraft paper you actually get when ordering some Unity stamps.. I save the paper all the time.. I inked it up using the Dots for sure background stamp from Ippity and then the Merry Christmas stamp in black .

Now , did you know Unity is retiring some of the 2008 kit of the month's

December Daily 2010, Day 20, GIU2

Welcome to my day 20
December Daily and Growing in Unity day 2
.. we didn't do too much on the 2oth. Grocery shopping ,some crafting and one special thing.. we made our Christmas breakfast dish.. if you are West Indian you will know this dish very well. It is a family tradition to eat this for breakfast with some homemade bread Christmas morning. It is one thing that my kids look forward to every year. They even like it better than presents. go figure. I could have saved alot of money just making them a meal. hehe.
here are the pages for our day.
December 20, 2010

Roger brought these photo's home that were taken by one of the photographers at the Wrigley's Christmas party this year.

This was our day.. 2 pots of Pepperpot cooking on the stove.. a Family Cuisine Tradition.. yummy.. The family can't wait to taste this Christmas morning for breakfast.. yummo!!
For my Growing in Unity project my sweet hubby found this wine gift box, made of wood at the dollarstore. I would say what an amazing find. I think I need more.. the things I can do with them even for my craft room will be fabulous.
here is the blank wine gift box.

now here it is using one of the stamps from the Ippity (season of joy) I just love all the fantastic shapes you get in this set.

I first stamped out the image all around the box and then with some black acrylic paint I painted the inside of the image.. I love the black and natural wood feel to it.. painting the door black and adding a tag and ribbon.. What a fantastic gift idea for male or female.. Christmas or anytime of year..
but can you image a stack of them with some scrappy stuff inside.. well I can. maybe for a next project. hehe

here is the front.. I hope the person getting this will like it. If not I will be glad to take it back and they can keep the contents. HA!!

Have a fabulous day
Hugs,
Angie

Growing In Unity ..Day 5 FWF

It's Friday.. Friends With Flair.. and my last day of Growing In Unity!!
I have loved sharing all the new things that I do with Unity/ Ippity Stamps this week and can't wait to show you more as I do it again the end of December!!
Now if you want to do Growing in Unity it is for everyone to participate in.. it is a fun filled week of featuring creations by yourself showing off your Unity and Ippity Stamps!! you can sign up here!!
Today I am so excited to show you something I have been working on for the past two weeks. Inspired by my Growing in Unity stamp set.. and Donna Downey!!
My Mom is a sewer and does it all by just taking measurements and cutting.. no patterned needed. She made my wedding dress, all my bridesmaid dresses and 5 other dresses for my wedding 23 years ago.
I decided to be just like MOM.. (my hero) and step up my game .
So I made this apron ( got to start small) with no pattern, no instructions.. just my imagination and the scissors leading the way. I was thrilled that all the years looking at my Mom cut her own patterns ideas paid off!!
So here it is , my first Apron project
( I will be making these for Christmas gifts this year)
Hope you like it.. and get inspired to use your Unity/Ippity stamps in a different way!

See the flourished swirls well that is just one swirl you get in this Growing in Unity stamp set!!
The great thing is Angela has everything 40% off on the website this weekend so you will have to go check it out!!

I added the flowers.. the red and small chocolate felt ones I made using the 3D flower die from Sizzix. the big Brown mesh is by lily bee designs. ( thanks Sarah I am finally using it) .

It wasn't bad and only took me two days to stitch everything.. about an hour a night watching tv with the kids...

I am making some more for Christmas presents and one for my daughter Sydney for her Birthday in December. .. she wants to be matching with Mommy.. I think we will look smashing wearing it while making our Christmas treats this year.

Tell me what you think? I just love the idea that you can make whatever your heart desires with these Unity/ Ippity Stamps. It is really a designers dream.. to have minimal tools handy and that it can be multi functional .. I guess that is why I love Unity so much!!

Well it is now time to go check out the rest of today's Friends with Flair.. sorry about all the babbling.. this girl like to talk..hehe
The Unity Blog will have the Master List of today's Participants.. next one up is
the lovely Nora Anne

Just a reminder.. NOVEMBER 18TH is the IPPITY RELEASE PARTY!! mark that day down on your calendars cause it will be the BEST DAY EVER!!
I will be picking a comment winner and posting it on my blog tomorrow!!
Thank you for coming by my blog this week. I just love

Growing In Unity.. Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of my Growing In Unity..

Today, I have a fun Halloween glow lantern to share with you and a card for the Unity Addicts Challenge. I just love making new and wonderful creations for the season and I found this one by Martha Stewart.. HERE, isn't if just wonderful. Now she had her own centers for the lantern with the download.. but of course I wanted to use this great Ippity stamp from the So This is Love set.. I added some yellow moons and bats well that is a MS punch.. that I just love!! So glad my hubby picked it up for me last year.
I have it in my front room sitting on a table looking out my front window.. so at night you see a soft glow from outside.. it is quite beautiful. and easy to just fold and put away for next year.

Glow Lantern

Here is a better view of it..I just love it!!

and here is my daughter .. we are outside looking in.. cool photo.. she looks like a ghost!

Today I also did this card for the new Unity Addicts challenge UAC24.. it is a really cool one so make sure you give it a try.. it is all about using your initials to make up a card.. so every ones will be different.. love that!!

Growing In Unity.. Day 2

WOOHOO... Growing In Unity Day 2

Thank you for all the wonderful comments yesterday.. I hope you will love today as well.. Today I am featuring my very first tutorial Video.. so be nice..hehe.. you will see my chubby little hands and I might say things more than once.. I will get better.. right??

I am trying to do some tutorial using YouTube.. when I hear my voice all I imagine is my sister.. I guess we all talk the same.. cause that is who I picture..hehe

Did I mention I have a new thing called Holiday Hyperness.. well that is me right now.. flowing with tons of ideas! This is just one of them that I have wanted to share forever!!

So the video is up first.. and then I have 2 projects.. one Ippity one Unity!!

Ippity Stamps with Polymer Clay!!

HA... this is the layout. Using Ippity, Misting sprays, Polymer clay Ippity embellishments, some Sassafrass.. A whole lot of scrappy goodness I say!!

PLAY

the details.. these are the polymer clay Ippity pieces .. I inked them with some Unity ink and backed them.. slightly overcooked but I love how it turned out distressed.. hehe

Here is my Unity Project .. I made this wonderful easy table runner for Thanksgiving.. so easy and I just love it!! Using my handy dandy Canvas Cotton Drop Cloth.. (home depot.. yes it is an addiction).. I cut the size and sewed the sides in black thread to match the black of the leaf pattern. Using the Samantha Walker Fall stamps I inked away the leaf images using black Fabric paint ..( you can pick these up at Walmart) .. and within less than an hour I had this wonderful runner for my Thanksgiving table..

My Thanksgiving Table.. simple but it was wonderful!!

Thanks so much for coming by my GIU today.. Tomorrow I will have some more wonderful projects to share... I just love doing this!!
Happy Tuesday to you all!!
Hugs,
Angie
