Unity Thursday .. Back to School Awesomeness

Happy Thursday everyone, hope you are all having a great one..
I know some of you have children that are already back to school..
we have a month and a week before my kids go back..
I can't wait... I think my daughter misses her friends.
I miss the routine and the earlier bed times..lol

Today is also my 26th Anniversary to this wonderful fella!!
Love you Babe!! Thanks for all the wonderful years!!

This week we have lots to show.. so be prepared for lots of photo's..

we have this great stamps set.. you will love this one..

I did my card two different ways..
in this one I added one stamp on top of the other with two different inks..
I love the effect, then i added some copic colours to make it look more funky..

Then for this card I did the opposite and just inked them up individually.
I love this effect as well.. adding my copics on some parts in lighter colours.
you will see how these stamps will look amazing on your cards.. but also
a fun way to make your own wrapping paper for Teacher's gifts.

then we have these two great stamp itty bittys out this weekend as well...
loving that big pencil and the good luck sentiment..
for this I used last years Authentique Paper line.. " Curiosity"

Gook Luck PENCIL

Also this owl itty bitty.. LOVE..
the papers are from Studio Calico " Yearbook"

I paper pieced the images to use as an accent to the top of my page..
then taking some of the 12 x 12 papers and layering them on top of each other for a layered look.

The flowers from Petaloo added the perfect accent for these papers..
I just love the blues and yellows.

You can see the wonderful layers in this close up.. and that cross word paper is my
favourite.. I used the sticker letters and words to add my title .

Here is my layout..  I wanted to do a Mother's Day themed layout with  an older photo.. but
honestly we have not changes other than Sydney is taller..haha

Using the Authentique Paper Collection " GRACE" ... I just love all these colours.
Rich, floral, just beautiful for this coming Mother's Day..
I also love how these dies transforms these papers to the perfect embellishments.

By using these dies I made those fun pop up flowers.. layering some and leaving some single.. adding
some fun rhinestone bling to the middles.
( other flowers are from Petaloo.. they match our papers perfectly )

I used pop dots on the Hexagon shapes to add some layering element  to my page..
I love the photo corners on the photo as well.. those are from the "headline" sheets and just punch out.

adding one of the punch out file folder shapes..and the beautiful quotes I made this the
title of my page. I love how it all came out.. and so easy to put together.

Original, Festive, Lovely and Peaceful

Maybe you saw this on the Authentique Blog on Friday ,
I wanted to share it here on my blog as well and some other Projects I made for
this special Handmade Holiday Blog Hop..

Merry

Now for some of my new Holiday AUTHENTIQUE Creations.

I decided to make some fun Christmas Canvas Art. Mixed Media style.
Adding stencils, mod podge, and tons of wonderful papers from
 Authentique's Peaceful collection.

These are all 6x6 canvas's perfect for displaying in your home Christmas decor even better for
that special Christmas gift you want to give this year..
Even the scarf and bird are from the papers..I just coloured them with my red copic marker
and paper pieced to fit my snowmen.  I added some textured paste with chunky glitter
to make the snow.. it turned out wonderfully. Then adding some 3D objects from my
Christmas wreath stash.. to add the Christmas Whimsy.

winter JOY

Here are some very basic and easy instructions.
1. get your canvas and cut out the size of papers you want to use. I have mine cut to the exact
size of my canvas. Adhere them with a decopauge medium. I used Mod Podge. let dry.
2. Using some textured paste a doily stencil and some paint to tint my textured paste.
add a little drop of paint to your textured paste, blend. place stencil or template on the covered
paper canvas , apply the textured paste, remove the stencil and let dry.
3. with a fiskars circle punch cut a 3 inch and a 2.5 inch circle for the body of your snowman.
paper piece a hat , scarf and hands, don't forget the nose.
distress these items, colour with inks or transparency paints on the items you want to have colour.
Adhere with mod podge. add bling for eyes and buttons. let dry.
4. take some textured paste, white paint and mix, add them to the areas you want to show snow.
add chunky glitter on top of snow , dab lightly with fingers and let dry.
5. add 3D decor items, add sticker words and letters . Add pearls of snowflakes.
6. Mod Podge everything and let dry.
you can repeat these steps for all your canvas's, just cut different images to use.

You can see how amazing the sides look using the paper instead of just painting it.

Here is another Canvas Art piece I made.. this time making a layered fringe Christmas tree.
adding the textured paste to the fringe for snow.

This is also a great way to add some of Authenique's Stickers.. you can lightly colour the image if you like.. I did just that with the pine and birds in the quote.
Everything was sealed with Mod Podge.

My third Canvas.. was basically the same as the first.. just a different snowman with a different
scarf and hat. .. can you tell my house it filled with Snowmen??.. I just love them.
I also love the 12x8 sticker sheets using the letters to make my title on the snowman canvas's.

frosty LOVE

I hope you enjoyed my handmade Canvas ART .. give it a try these papers from the Peaceful Collection are just wonderful for this type of mixed media art..
