Have I told you lately how much I LOVE Unity..
well just in case I haven't.. I am telling you now!!
Just take a look and you will know why..

CHIC Fabulous
this is a new kit being released today..
UK-695A-CHIC-FABULOUS
you get 2 large dress forms, one word, flower and leaf.. you can stamp them on a card..
use them on a layout, or do something even more
fabulous and stamp and apply them to canvas..
I inked these babies up on water colour paper.. then using my NeoColor crayons
I coloured them in with a fine tip paintbrush..
I then let dry and applied then on 6x6 thick canvases with gel medium.
( this is applying the gel medium on the canvas..
then the back of the water colour paper then on the front of the watered coloured art.)

here they are individually ...
I call this one LOVE.. my favourite word!!

Using modeling paste and the Christy Tomlinson's vintage lace mask I got a doily
effect for my background. then adding some random flowers from Petaloo and Pink Paislee
I used my Helmar 450 quick dry glue to adhere them on my canvas.. the LOVE background stamp
is Unity's Layers of Life { never ending story} kit.

This one I called Fabulous...
Using the techniques as I did on the above canvas..
I love, love that you can do so many things with this kit..

I heART Unity!! Just Sayin'

Every had one of those days when everything just goes perfect...
Creative Bliss is what I call it..
Yesterday I had a day off work and wanted to make some cards for today's hop..
well that changed into 4x4 canvas ART... more my passion ..
I just LOVE these image I created for the May Kit of the MONTH..
 so beautiful for your canvases...

Here are the 2 Canvases I made..

Let the BEAUTY we LOVE be what we do... rumi
beautiful sentiment from this kit of the month.. paired with these Dalhia's  I designed.
the colour is so vibrant .. No it did not use water colours... I used my good copics to colour these..
I love how it just pops off the canvas.

It was stamped and coloured with copics and paper pieced and using gel medium  it was adhered onto the canvas.. that is why the image is so crisp. Using Textured Modeling Paste for defination..
and some Golden paint for the perfect blue background.

Then I could not stop at one.. so I made another.. same 4x4 size using the same copic technique
but the background is made with modeling paste and gelato's by Faber Castell... one of my favourite ways to add colour.. lots of drippage... I just love these dresses I created for the Kit of the Month..
I can't wait to hang this on my wall.

Well this is the FABULOUS kit of the month for May 2014.. it is called
Hey Girl... and I so adore it..

Unity Thursday! DIY inspired

Happy Thursday!!
I wanted to share a project I had on the Unity Blog for DT Tuesday..
I hope it get's you inspired to use those Layers of Life stamps in a different way.

I wanted to share a little project I made this weekend past.
. I took a canvas purse and turned it into a piece of ART using the LOL kit of the month.

I first started with a canvas handbag I got from our local Dollar Store ( where I work)
Then added a layer of gesso on the front . I did not do the back because I didn't want it rubbing on
my clothing.. Then I added my layer of blue acrylic paint and some painted flower details.

Then I added some sketched pen outlines and my stamp images for details in black achrival inks.
I let that dry and heat set the purse by just throwing it in th dryer for a couple of minutes.
I know this is way out of the box, but I do love it alot.. so original and fun for the summer.
It is amazing what you can do with these stamps to change it up.

remember to check out the Unity Website for all the sales and promotions.

Unity Layers of Life July

Hi everyone.. I made this beautiful canvas art yesterday using Unity's Layers of Life July kit .
Love Truly ( Through Time)

First I painted my background yellow and added a stencil with some white paint. Then using white tissue paper
I inked up the stamps . Using my favourite inks Lady Bug red, Bahama Blue and Tuxedo Black by Momento
I inked and stamped on one layer of tissue paper then using mod podge to adhere it to my canvas.. Because
It is tissue paper you can layer it on top of each other and still see the full designs. Then I let that dry and
painted my focal image on top.

You cam become a member of the Layers of Life club here..

Have a great day...

he{ART} & SOUL... in the works

Well it has been ages that I have posted anything  dealing with my ART.. if you are new to my blog come and sit back to get to know this side of me better.. as I have many sides of me to share.

I just love to paint.. it is one of the greatest loves in life..
it makes me happy where it counts in my heart.
I don't know what it is about paints, canvas, stencils and my imagination or inspiration that I find.
It just all seems so calming to me.
I truly enjoy the process.. and from an impatient person that it a task all in itself.
Well today  I am showing you a piece I actually just finished moments ago..
it has only taken me 2 days
from the bare bones of my canvas to NOW..
I know it is not a lot of time in between but for me it is
a long process... haha

I found this piece of inspiration on google images under Melody Ross Art.. from the Brave Girls website. I just love the way she embraces life.. the simplicity of it all..
and when I saw this I totally fell in love with the piece.
I had to try my hand at making one for myself.. the words just spoke to me. ..
( it is totally okay to be inspired by someone elses art... as long as you give the credit to that person)
I have a lot of inspiring women and Melody is just one of them.

here is the inspired Art Piece.

Now my process it just playing with my plain canvas to get the background I want.
So starting with a blank white canvas.. I took some Crafters Workshop stencils and textured paste.
No, I did not add any paint colour to this.. just the paste, the stencils and the canvas..
I randomly just with a old credit card layered my paste over the stencil and started to play..
here are the canvases I worked on yesterday.

Then after a couple of hours of dry time I added my paint. Right now I am using
Amsterdam Painters Acrylics.  I got these at my local art store.
I stocked up on my favourite Aqua colour.. can never have enough of that one colour. haha.

I worked on 4 different canvases yesterday.. just getting my backgrounds down.
I love this process a lot.

So then to get back to the inspired canvas..
this is what I did today. using a variety of colours for the small flowers..
the shapes are just your basic circles. layering one colour on top of another. to get the look
I wanted..  I just added a variety of colours and dots.
this canvas is 16x12,  the smaller word canvas is 3x5
which is just stuck on with Helmar Quick Dry glue..

You can see the texture in the background..
it does make a difference to have all that beautiful
texture to look at and feel.
You will also notice a lot of crocheted flowers.. I just love adding
a 3-D element to it.. just gives it my own feel.. and I have made a ton
of these flowers just for my canvas art.  gives it that home spun feeling I
love in my art. Totally an Angie thing..haha

I even added some brads to this...

you can see all the small details and the colours that totally pops out of this ART piece.

For my out lining of the flowers I used a micron .08 pen..
this is a nice out line with out it being too harsh.
The stamps for my small canvas are just little wooden stamps I found at my local dollar store..I tend to hoard little wooden letter stamps for this reason.. the ink is Ranger's Archival Black.

So there you have it ,  a little part of me.. just some paints and inspiration and I am good.
well now I need to think of the other 3 canvases still left to be done.. or is it 4...
here is my process of those from last night. waiting for me to finish them off.
hoping to remember to post these when they are finished and ready to be seen.

Now all I need it my son and hubby to hang some of these up . I am in the process
of making an Art gallery wall going up the stairs  in my main living room.  With all
the Art work from all the family. It should look amazing and we will add pieces
in the years to come.

have a wonderful creative day.
hugs
Angie
