Creative Prompts.. Recycle challenge and a Flower tutorial.

Creative Prompts has a great Prompt for this week.. one of my favourite things to do!! Recycle.. go through your recycling bin or your recycling stash.. and do some fun things to add to a project.. I decided to do something using some cardboard and that brown kraft packaging paper that I always get with my Unity and Ippity parcels and I do not have the heart to throw it out.. so I keep in just in case... and like magic I am finally using it , I am so happy now!! . want to take a look!!
Here is my layout using my Recycled items... and at the end of the post I have a Flower tutorial on the glittered flowers. so make sure you check it out!!

Sisterly Love

The Details..

Using some wonderful Ippity and Unity stamps.. I did the Ippity Burlap image first and the distressed hearts on top.. I also did these cute lollipop flowers using some more Ippity Stamps distressing the paper circles ,making them alittle funky. love how they turned out, using a piece of cardboard and a brad for the center adds some texture to the flower. LOVE IT!! for the small flower I just got a strip of the same packaging paper and bunched it to make a rose like flower... stapled the end, and inked in the red Unity ink for dimension. I cut out some small cardboard hearts and ink it the same red colour..

now for the medium glittered flowers I made a tutorial showing you how I made them.. so very easy and fun!! so go to the next set of photo's for instruction..

Seeing that I didn't do a Saturday Flower Tutorial.. I am sharing one today. This Saturday I will do the lollipop Kraft flower that is in this layout as well.. so come back!!

Glitter Swirl Packaging Flower!!

1. start with your recycled items.. I used the kraft packaging paper.. I have been saving it from all my parcels of scrappy product that I get in the mail..

2. cut a long strip about an inch in width.

3. dampen you hands and scrunch the paper strip , making it a tiny wet.. easier to work with.

4. just start at one end and roll the paper.. making it long and snake like..

5. on a separate piece of scrap paper add a bit of tacky glue.. in a big enough circle.. you will be adhering the rope like strip to this.

6. now starting in the center.. swirl the rope strip making it as big as you want it. press down this way the glue has a chance to set.

7. here you have it.now cut the excess paper around it.

8. It almost looks like a Cinnamon bun..

9. go ahead and ink the flower in whatever colour you want.. leaving some of the kraft colour showing through.

you can add a brad to the center and finish it here but I wanted to go one step more.. so I put some glue on the top of the swirled flower.

10. adding the glue.. not too much you want to see the ink and kraft.

11. face down .. place the flower in some glitter.. any colour.. go crazy!!

12. take it out and shake the access in the container.

Here you have some fun glittery flowers... I just love how it all turned out.. and hope you try this with some of your packaging kraft paper you get in the mail the next time.
now it is time to go check out the Creative Prompts 4 U blog to see what the other Creative Crew DT have come up with.. Do the challenge, I would love to see what you come up with too.
Happy Thursday,
Angie

Just in time for summer, SUNSHINE is full of larger sized stamps, perfect for scrapbooking, cardmaking, or any papercrafting! And ONE LUCKY WINNER just might take one home after hoppin' around the Scrapbooking DT's blogs today!

In addition? The TGF Scrapbooking Team is THRILLED to welcome LYNDA NIELSEN to our gang! You may recognize Lynda as one of our Gardeners and now she is back and ready to get scrappin'! Welcome!

For our Challenge today, (did you KNOW that TGF is doing weekly scrapbooking challenges on the TGF Blog?)Jaci has a great sketch to share with you all.. go to The Greeting Farm Blog and check it out!!

Here is what I made with Jaci's creative sketch..

Gizmo

The Details..

Don't you just love this wonderful flower stamp.. I love it!! and you will see what wonderful images are in store for you when you see the whole set. The Bird also.. I have a thing for flowers, birds and dragonflies.. and this kit has them all.. lots of great flowers!! yippee!!

This criss cross stitch image is a great one too. I am sure I will be using this alot.

I now have to tell you alittle about my layout.. this is my daughter Sydney and she is holding this sweet puppy Gizmo... Honestly since she was a small little baby.. dogs would send her over the top.. she would scream and scream for hours if one came near her.. and this was what we dealt with everyday since a month and a bit ago.. even if a dog walked by we would have to pick her up and she would climb us until she was almost sitting on our heads...haha.. not really!! Then she met Gizmo.. and they became good friends ...almost love at second okay maybe third sight!! It is a dear friends dog and she is smitten with it..she dreams and thinks about it all the time.. funny how she is still scared of every other dog but Gizmo has a little spot in her heart!! Totally Sweet and I got these great photo's of the two of them on the weekend. I thought it would be a great layout to share a story.. hopefully she will love looking back on this in a few years. Puppy Love does exist!!

I'm thrilled to show you more of this wonderful kit week after week and hope you'll play along with our challenges too! They are every Thursday for scrapbooking and each week we offer up a GREAT prize!

Today.. I am posting some photo's that the kids let me take of them just because.... well I actually took 178 photo's in a half an hour..My hubby bought the Canon Rebel..

and it takes wonderful photo's. So my kids were nice enough to be my subjects and just let me take photo after photo.. gotta love these moments. Well honestly.. Sydney let me take photo after photo.. I had to sneak in and got a few of Alex.. but before look at some of the photo's that I wanted to share with you...you have to take a gander of this you-tube video of my brother Mike and his life partner Matt.. you have to watch this!! FUNNY!! Beautifying America

Here are some photo's of my half hour photo shoot.

I think I just love this camera and I am hoping I can play with it when my hubby isn't.

Hope you all had a great day.

Angie

Ippity Bippity Boo!!

Ippity Bippity Boo.. Have I got a card to share with you... haha Welcome Monday. What a great weekend. I was partaking in the Relay for Life Cancer Walk.. It was Friday Night to Saturday Morning.. with little rain ( but so refreshing) and a total of 9 hours walking I made it to the end.. that was a big stretch of 24 hours with also no sleep.. so when I got home I crashed.. but for only 4 hours.. sore and aching, I managed to walk around the block to just keep my body from falling apart.. and woke up Sunday all wonderful and back to normal.. except my toes are a little sore still.. didn't help that I had to wear heels yesterday for a friends Confirmation. All in all a great weekend for me and my son.. he managed to do 10 hours in total.. I am so proud of him! We will be back next year for more fun.

Now it is Monday and I am back on track.. This is a card I did for Simply Scrapping Crafts this week.. The challenge was this sketch by my one of my favourite peeps Amy Beaver.. Ultra talented artist and design team member.. (btw she will be coming out with her first set of digital designs soon, I will keep you updated.. you are going to love them) .

Don't you just love this!!

This is the card I made.. Using Ippity of course... I just love this image sentiment.. just perfect for so many things that life throws at you.. The Best Way to Prepare for Life is to Begin to LIVE.. love that!!

If you go to the main Ippity Blog you will find a list of Participants for today's Hop.. Have fun and enjoy every one's creativity.. I know I will.

Happy Monday.

Hugs,

Angie

FWF... Guess Whoooo?

Friends With Flair.. That is Whoooo... I just love this wonderful owl and the frame in this April Unity Store Kit of the Month.. I wasn't sure when I saw it but slowly I had to have this one. I am not one to get both KOM's but the images in this kit was speaking to me, I just had to order it..well the half kit.. and I also got he May Half kit with that cool ledger paper . I got mine at PaperManiac.... I love that her shipping prices are not high for shipping to Canada.. and she even refunded me some of the shipping costs as well.. who does that!! I will be a devoted shopper there now! Oh..,I still have to ink that May Store KOM one up!!

So here is the Window card I did using the frame and the owl.. love it!!

Guess Whoooo?

To see the main list of participants this week just go check out the Unity Blog.. I will be doing my Relay for Life walk tonight and through the morning.. 12 hours of walking and talking fun.. I just hope it doesn't rain.. this year my son is joining the team I am in with some of my dearest old neighbourhood friends. It should be lots of fun and I am happy that I get to spend some time with my son one on one sort of... I will take whatever I can get.. he soon will be 15 years old.. so I wouldn't mind getting some mommy time.

Hope you all have a wonderful fun weekend.

CP4U

Creative Prompts 4 U has the first challenge up for June.. and that means another wonderful prize package as well.. I have a layout of my Baby Sister and her Hubby.. they did the right thing and went on vacation to Hawaii and tied the knot on the beach.. not family.. just a wonderful wedding for 2. This was a couple of years ago and I am just scrapping the photo's.

Well If you have not noticed yet how much I love Unity Stamp Company .. this is only one reason.. it is the variety of Stamps ,you get to start with a blank slate and make it just shine with glory. For the Creative Prompts 4 U challenge we were to use a photo piece to inspire us.. This is what I came up with .. to go see the inspiration photo check out the CP4U challenge blog and also to take a look at the wonderful creations that the Creative Crew has come up with..

WED

Using the Donna Downey stamps.. I did the background paper in black soot, and purple inks. for the tags.. I used a grass green and the purple.. to tie in the colours from the inspirational photo. the flower is made and you can see the tutorial in here..

I really love how this all came together, now... go check out the other Creative Crew projects.
Have a wonderful Happy Day.
Hugs,
Angie
