Tell Me Your Love Story.. Creative Prompts!!

( second post for today.. TGF Scrapbooking Challenge post below)

This week's Creative Prompt comes from the lovely, Hanneke!

This week,Hanneke and her husband have been married for 14 years and she thought it would be fun to do a love story!! So tell us a love story. It can be anything; your own, your parents, the love for your children or pet or another love story you think is beautiful!!


Here is my layout for this challenge.

This was taken on our Wedding day.. 22 years ago... look how young we look.. I honestly can't remember the beginning of that day.. it was such a busy time.. and before you knew it we were married and have been together with some ups and downs and have survived this journey for 22 years .. Every day I know who blessed I am for having Roger by my side.

The Details..

Using the swirl flower method.. I made these red felt flowers the white one is Maya Road.

I just love to journal but I love hidden journaling not to take away from the layout. I typed this out on my computer and made a folder tag with it.. It just sits inside the upper part of the layout to be pulled out and read.. This tells a little bit about our story.. Hard to get 22 years on one sheet of paper .. I would need to write a book!! haha

Etsy Inspired.. I finally did it!!

I have wanted to ply with the challenges over on the Etsy Inspired Blog for ages... honestly ages... well today I finally did it!! I was inspired by this wonderful challenge.. you have to check out the Etsy Inspired Challenge Blog for details.

Berry Good Life with my Friends with Flair!

Oh I just love Thursdays now.. lots of love in the Unity Forum.. wonderful games and chit chat with my Unity Friends.. Then with all that. comes Friday where I can share some of my Unity .. and can see all the wonderful creations of all the great ladies that I chit chatted with the day before.. Life is good!!

I saw that great sketch that Jimmi had posted and just had to get creative.. with all the talk of gardening, Cosmo, and strawberries.. I had to ink up this set.. Oh why didn't I do this one already!! I love it!!

The set is called Berry Good Life.. Amazing!!

I also did this card for one of the challenges over on Simply Scrapping Crafts.. Just love everything Unity!!

I always have time to play with my stamps , but really need to still ink so many up.. I must make a note to self and try a new stamp every week for some challenge or another.. I sometimes forget what I have and then it goes uninked... oh what a shame!! This will have to be my new personal challenge!!

The Greeting Farm.. Sew Scrappy Challenge...

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday and I hope you are all excited about this wonderful challenge by Jeannette.

She would like for you to use stitching somewhere on your layout also using some of The Greeting Farm stamps.. It can be Machine.. Hand or Faux.. Whateva!!

Here is my layout using the challenge.

The Flip Side!!

I did some hand stitching.. and I must say I just love how it all turned out!!

The Details..

Using the butterfly stamp in the "Spotlight " kit I inked up some white cardstock inking them more that once in the same spot.. getting a strong and faded look. Then with a pair of scissors I cut out these cute clouds, by hand, inked the edges in brown and to give them some height I used foam adhesive.

I also used those wonderful arrow stamps.. I just love this one.. and doesn't it look amazing in the pink ink colour!! LOVE IT!! I got these great Jillibean Soup letters at Scrapfest.. Oh I know I should have gotten more..

Creative Prompts 4U.. is Changing it UP!!

It is time to CHANGE IT UP!! I was so excited to do this challenge .. 1. because it was going to be a fun one.. 2. because my sweet friend Tara Thynne was going to be the Guest Designer this week at CP4U.

I have admired her for such a long time.. I won't tell you how long because then that would show my age.. and we all know I am YOUNG (35 right) haha... I was also very lucky to meet Tara last weekend at Scrapfest in Kitchener. We actually saw each other before they let us in the doors. Like a romance novel our eyes linked from across the room.. gushy eh.. but it actually did.. and we just knew who we were.. and can I tell you now that I have met her I love her even more!! Here is a photo of the two of us on the first night of Scrapfest!

Well enough about me ...

Here is Tara's creative prompt...

Her challenge is for you is to take an embellishment and enhance it to make a new one of a kind addition to your page. You can do this by many means... painting, misting, adding glitter... the sky's the limit!

Here is the layout I did using metal altered embellishments.

Using my handy dandy copics I just coloured in the inside of the metal flower. love this look.

For the metal frame I took 4 different fine tip sharpies and did a chicken scratch on the frame , it just give it that kid look to it .. almost like my 4 year old did it.. now don't laugh I really don't colour like a 4 year old... okay you can laugh.. I do it to myself alot! haha

Egg Path



This was our Easter Sunday.. I decided it would be fun to do the hunt for Sydney in the park.. so I hopped outside and made a path of eggs for her to gather.. Of course it was a big hit and she wanted to do it again and again!!

The details.



Using the Arrow stamp I just wanted to accent the already black October Afternoon Paper.. It just give it a little texture.. I am hoping you can see it. I also had to ink up these cute stars and bling them up.. and I love that bracket stamp too.. This kit has so many wonderful polka dotted images.. and I love polka dots!!

Creative Prompts 4U... Get Inspired!!

I just love being a part of this wonderful team of women.. Creative Prompts 4U.. where you will find challenges to get your mojo working.. and some wonderful inspiring layouts or cards from the CP4U Design Team.. This week Ally and Nicole did the challenge.. So go to the Creative Prompts 4U Challenge Blog and check it out!!

Here is the layout I did this week.. Using the colours as my inspiration, I found this paper at Michael's.. it was so perfect.. I was not sure what photo's I was going to use and these were just made for this.. the colours are so wonderful together..I am so happy with how this turned out. Really got the MoJo going in the right way!!

The Details..

Using the Heide Swapp Ghost Flowers I just accented it with some black ink. The swirl Felt flower I made myself , the cream felt flower is Maya Road... on the clear flower is a brown polymer clay flower.. my latest obsession.. I love making my own embellishments.

Some of my Favourite Martha Stewart border punches.. another obsession of mine.. I just want them all.. Makes paper look extraordinary.. I have some more on order and can't wait to get those!!

Here is my "ScrapHop" Layout

Time to RIDE

These photo's were taken last weekend at my Aunt's house.. she has the best backyard with lots of animals.. You just can't have so many animals and no one to ride them for a bit.. and that is what Sydney decided to do.. Time to Ride .. this wonderful Garden Elephant!!

The Details..

For the banner I used the arrow stamp, love that you can use it for all different elements on your patterned papers. I also used the end of the grid stamps for the title spot as well.. love how that turned out.

For these cone flowers the I used one of the grid stamp.. the dot one.. and cut the cone of the flower out of brown paper and stamped the dots on it .. LOVE THAT!! The flowers are just some Prima folded in half for a cone flower look.. and with a black fine tip marker I did a faux zigzag stitch for the stems.. Using some of the Basic Grey "Indian Summer" papers I rolled the tips .. I love how they had this one pattern that kind of matched the grid stamp perfectly.

FFF... { Farm Fresh Friday }

This is my First Farm Fresh Friday's TGF style!! Our challenge this week is "Spring Cleaning"..you know, using something you forgot you had, something found or even something you were going to throw away but decided to use it instead.
Well that is exactly what I decided to do.. As a Mother of a Girly Girl we have lots of dress up clothes. Everyday she is putting on and taking off whatever fancy's her that day.. and I have BOA feathers of every colour all over the playroom, black, green, purple, orange and PINK !! Most of the time they get sucked up by the hand vacuum but I decided to keep some of them and this was just the perfect time to use one!!

This is a photo of my daughter Sydney and her kitty's .. Kitty and Oliver if she is sad , worried or just plain unhappy.. all you have to do is give her these fluffy cats and she is the Happiest person!!


Using the Scrappiest Sketch #59 for my layout!

I wanted a simple layout for the stamps that I am featuring for this layout. I was lucky enought that the Scrappiest had the perfect sketch!!

The Details..

Here is my "Spring Cleaning" item...the Boa feather that is tucked in behind the diecut leaf image from the Think Pink MM Slice Cartridge. Using the round butterfly stamp I stamped 6 of this image out on white cardstock and tucked them slightly in the pink Jillbean Soup paper. I love the look it gave me .. Scallops with a butterfly flair.

Using the Heat Embossing Technique , I used some versaMark ink and inked my large butterfly image, sprinkled the white embossing powder over it and heated with my heat gun. I love this heat embossing technique.. so much fun. Then I just cut the circle image out .. I also love that pink Crate Paper ,paper. Added this green button that was just perfect for the colours used.





I am loving all the sentiment stamps you get in this TGF kit!! This one is just so perfect for alot of layouts and would make a nice sentiment on cards! The "Spotlight " kit just ROCKS!!

Unity.. Friends With Flair Friday!!

Happy Friends with Flair Friday!! I had such a great time Hip Hopping with everyone!! Good Times, catching up and making friendships. HIP HOP Lives ON!!

This is the card I did for the Hip Hop sketch challenge. I just love these owls, and I thought that it would be a fun card for Mother's Day. Seeing that we are a large family of 11, she would get a "HOOT' pardon the pun.. out of it. I decided to do a card of a different shape. I never do this size but love how wonderful it turned out, I will definitely do more.

Simply Scrapping Wednesday.. 1 Sketch - 2 Cards.

Simply Scrapping Crafts.. I am designing for the Card Challenge Group and the Copic Group, together they have decided to team up and do this wonderful sketch by our very own DT Gal, Patricia. Seeing that I needed to do 2 cards for this sketch for 2different groups I wanted them to be as different as possible.

Using a digital image from Swiss Pixies, I coloured the image using my copic markers. This was for Lesson 5.. How to Colour Skin. Lisa has the video in the Group. I used the tiny bubbles Cuttlebug folder for the background , some clouds that I drew on white cardstock and Hambly rub-ons for the faux stitched scallops. The sentiment stamp is Unity.

The next card is for the Card Challenge Group, Using another CB folder and some October Afternoon papers. The polymer clay bird I made myself and the sunflower diecut was from the dollarama.. I love that store. The sentiment is Unity ( can't get enough of this company, lol) Copic Group.
