Sketch Art Tuesday!!

So we are already at the end of the month.. wow last day I should say.. I can't believe how fast it is just going by!! Today is the last of my month's Sketch Art Tuesday Theme.. "flowers".

 We will see what sparks for next month's theme.. not sure yet.. but I know I will have some hearts floating around!! February is the month of "LOVE"

So this is my sketch for today..

Using most of what I used this month..

some  pastel pencils from Faber Castell

some glitter nailpolish, and copics.. a combination of all three.

for this piece of Art I didn't want to stay in the lines of my design.

so applying the pan pastel pencils I applied the colour just like using

a crayon and with my fingers in a circular motion , I moved the

colour all around the image..

It almost has a glow effect and stands out from the whiteness of the background.

I did the same thing with the little bird on the ground..

I hope you are enjoying these Sketch Art Tuesday's . It is something different for me and I love

sharing my Art with you.. it is totally my style.

Project Life 366..

Good Morning ..I am loving the simplicity of my Project Life!!

As I said before I am using a  4x6 photo album for my project.. one I purchased

at Walmart and the plastic in this photo album is amazing.. strong quality.

I got some digital elements from the Clementine and Turquoise additions of PL.

I am  resizing them to fit my album.. I am loving the colours

and for the instant delivery in my inbox.. this totally is worth getting.

I also added two layouts.. one side is a layout using some Unity and the

other side  has more events from the week

 and the journaling  of the week as well .

Sketch Art Tuesday.. on a Wednesday!

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay.. but it was such a busy Tuesday

I was busy doing a video for Unity TV.. that I will post on Friday.. and life happens.

So I am doing Sketch Art Tuesday on a Wednesday!!.

I thought I would do this after the kids were asleep.. but then..haha I fell asleep.. and

was wide awake at 3:30 am.. figures!!

So here I was painting and doing my post..

Today I am going the opposite way.. and doing a art journaling page.

I usally do it this way.. where I start with a blank canvas ( or page)

paint and then sketch!

Today it is all about Poppies..

I just love Poppies!!

My most favourite colour is turquoise ( aqua) , any shade of this blue!!

I start by covering my page with this colour.. this is a shiny paint so you will see

some shine to it!!

 then with some green acrylic paint I put down some lines... not perfect lines!!

Now comes the red.. just wavy circles.. and some wonky small oval shapes..

I do this in three layers.. drying with my heat gun the first 2 times and letting it dry naturally the third... you will see if you use the heat gun you will get some bubbly parts.. I like those parts best..it give it texture!

This is it dry!

Now the fun part of sketching my poppies.. I just go with the flow of the paint.. adding some layers to the petals so it doesn't look flat!

for the insides of the flowers. I used my Faber Castell Big Brush artist pen in black to fill in the centers.. this drys quick !

here is a different angle of my piece.. I added some white gelato Faber Castell to the background.. so the texture of the paint stood out more.. this is the effect of the heat gun.. nothing else.. love that!

the added white is actually a Martha Stewart opaque marker.. it goes on like paint.. and it gave me the perfect with dotted accents.

 put the paint down first..

keep it simple ,

 use all your favourite colours..

 and see where it takes you

Project 365... 2012

Hello and Welcome Monday,

I have wanted to do this post since yesterday..

 but family life gets the best of you, as it should!!

 So this year I am doing Project 365..

I did this last year and found by the summer I was not getting as caught up as I wanted too.

I am lucky that I had a file in my photo's that I would go

once a month and add photo's with dates too.

This helped me alot.. seeing that last Friday I finally got to Costo to get over 240 photo's developed.

They are all added to my 2011 album.. now I will just spend the rest of the month journaling!!

I am hoping to have it all done, by latest end of February!!

I need to set a goal for this one!!

This year I thought I wouldn't even attempt it. I totally forgot to get an album , not even checking

that Becky Higgins had any on sale Black Friday!! So it was not something that was on my mind.

Then January came.. and Face book was filled with "who is doing 365"... yes I caved in, because

it was all so tempting.. but still I had no album to work with.

For us to get this album in Canada it is expensive.. and being a single income family

it was not on a must have basis.. so I went hunting and thought I must have something in my

stash that would do the trick!!

so I found this...

it is an 11x13 album..

it carries 4x6 photo's vertically

for me this is good because I take most of my photo's this way.
it gives me more than 52 weeks of photo's... yippee

the cover of the album was black and gold so I covered the front with some papers

from Nikki Sivils ( Get well collection)

the numbers on the side are from Jillibean soup.

Adhering it all with 450 Quick Dry glue by Helmar!!

here is my inside intro page.. just a photo of myself and Roger and the kids below.

for this album I am using all my paper stash.. so you will see a mix of companies.

So here is how I am going to do my pages... I am starting with January 1st.. and doing the 7 days.. now this leaves me with one 4x6 pocker that I can decorate.. or do some journaling about what happened this week.. I am not going to journal every day.. some of the photo's will explain itself.. I am hoping by doing it paragraph style I can get my words down..

 like I am having a conversation with someone.

I am calling this.. "a week in photo's'.. where I will tell the story of that week, instead of everyday.

I need to make this part easier on myself and get it done weekly.

below are my first 3 weeks of January..

So this is my plan.. will it work?? who knows.. but I am willing to give it a try and see how far it takes me..  I am already liking the simplicity of it all.. adding some stickers, stamps, paper and decorative items here and there.

Sketch Art Tuesday... tag art!

Happy Tuesday..

Welcomr to another Sketch Art Tuesday.. with me!! Angie Blom

 I am not going to do a big post today.. only because I have a video..

 and it is long.. and I am sorry but I didn't want to leave anything out of it..

so no editting.. you will even hear me cough.. giggle.. but it will show you the process from the beginning to end.. of this project.

Here is what I made today.. just a simple sketch of a daily flower with some hearts..stamped texture

and for the glossy, glittery, star effect.. NAIL POLISH!!!!

Helmar + Authentique = Heaven on Canvas!!

Inspiration Word Canvas Art...

  Authentique Paper.
LOVE IT!!

using the paper collection " Gathering"

with the paper icons, diction word stickers.. all Authentique !!

I started with an 8x11 stretched Canvas.. using my Helmar 450 Quick Dry glue.. adhering the papers on the front of the canvas and the sides.. I wanted a dry look to this so nothing was added on top.

Distressing the sides with a sanding block and some Tim Holtz brushed Corduroy ink. it gave me the effect to the sides of the canvas.

Now this amazing frindged flower.. I learned how to make TAing for Becky Fleck this weekend at Crop & Create .. she is one amazing teacher.. using some more 450 Quick Adhesive to stick it on the paper.. this holds up amazingly..

I also made some smaller mum style fringed flowers..

I also rolled some of the paper for the stems.. on the paper pieced flowers I used the liquid scrap dots to give me the height I wanted.. and for the flat parts of papers and icons I used some Acid Free Helmar glue.. I just love how fast every thing holds.. ( liquid scrap dots does take longer.. but so worth the time) ...

Here is side of the Canvas.. love the dark browns and light aqua blues.. with that pop of orange.. it was also perfect for the beautiful May Arts floral ribbon in orange.. adding that extra pop...

seeing that the saying on the icon tag said.. " plant kindness & gather love" I used some of the sticker

words diction.. and scattered words around the canvas.. so when I look at it, it will remind myself to do these things daily.. inspirational canvas home decor.. gotta love that!!

I had so much fun making this.. and it helped with how fast this glue sets.
