The Greeting Farm .. Summer (TIME) challenge

Ah.. Summer is here and it is HOT HOT HOT .. This week over at The Greeting Farm we have a new challenge for you.. Jeanette has challenged us to do a layout using time (watches or/and clocks)using The Greeting Farm stamps.



Here is what I did.


Bring On The Sunshine.

Using my cricut I cut the two image out.. the clock and the little girl having fun in the sand.. this was the A Child's Year cartridge. I distressed it with brown and white inks.. and Using the dragonfly stamp I cut the main body off and used it on the little girl.. love the details in this stamp. I also took the quote and cut the words.. just perfect for these photo's of my daughter at the beach playing in the sand. ..

Simply Scrapping.. Copics on Fabric Challenge!!

Over at the Copic Group on Simply Scrapping Crafts.. we have a great challenge for you this week.. Using your copics on FABRIC.. Oh yes you heard it right... and it is so easy and lots of fun to do.. Judy and I are designing for this weeks challenge so make sure you check it out HERE.

I decided to do a small pillow for my little daughter.. and using these Ippity Stamps from the NOW and ALWAYS set.. they are stunning images for cards, fabric or any other project you can stamp on.. I so love these flowers.

HOW TO MAKE!!

I first cut my canvas to the size I wanted and then sewed all the sides but left a hole for the stuffing to go into.. now turning it on the right side.. I stamped my green images with fabric paint.. this is just using a sponge to apply the paint on the stamp.. and firmly stamping it on.. for the pink flower I took some black fabric paint and did the same technique.. let it dry and with my RV13 I started to colour with my copics.. it dried as I coloured instantly.. no need to wait.. Then I stuffed it and sewed by hand the side hole.. then I added these great pompoms to the sides.. CUTE isn't it.. and my daughter just loves it!! She wants me to make them for her friends now..

This is the first project and challenge for the group this month.. so you have all month long to get in the challenge .. all participants must upload to the group and gallery with the proper TAGS and TITLE. This is a class related group with lots of amazing things to learn to do with your copics.. our Leaders Lisa and Judy work very hard to bring you new and wonderful challenges to bring your Copic projects to the next level. I love their teaching skills. And twice a month Lisa will do a Video tutorial using copics.. so make sure you join SSC and the Copic group.. we always have lot of fun learning from these wonderful Ladies.. love them both!!

Inspired Canvas Album

I have been eyeing Donna Downey's Blog of Inspiration.. and just absoultley love everything she creates.. She has a some wonderful lessons with videos on her blog of her Inspired Art Album that she is working on.. and every Wednesday or so she posts the newest page for her Inspirational Wednesdays.. I just love that.. I only had one problem.. I didn't have an album to do it in.. and seeing that I am a frugal scrapper.. I decided to make my own.Here is the basic of photo's but I will give instructions on making your own. Using Unity Stamps.. cause if you know me that is all I ever use, cause I just love them!! I am going to make my album with the many stamped images I have collected in the last year.. and It is always nice to stamp on something other than paper... need to make these stamps work for me in more than one way..hehe..

Inspired Canvas Album


This is the cover of my Album.. I just love this quote from the Donna Downey stamp set..Artist in You. I also used one of the leaf vines from that set , the girl is from the "She" set also by DD.

The Polymer Clay pieces I made by just forming the clay and using my cuttlebug embossing folders, I added the textures by lightly pressing on it. love how they turned out.

The back cover.. I painted with all acrylic paints, loving the sun and seeing that my album as not straight and exact in any way or form the pages will sometimes be smaller than others.. so I also painted the tip of the page underneath to finish the back off.. I know strange but that is how I work..

Now let me tell you how I made this album. My Hubby Roger ( love this man!!) bought me a piece of Canvas drop cloth from the local Home Depot.. it is a 5feet x12 feet of cloth.. nice and strong and 100% cotton.. great for alot of project that I want to try.. I cut a long piece of this about 6inches in length and the whole width of the cloth. now just cutting by eye I decided on how large I wanted the book to be.. making sure when it folded in half it was a good size.. mine is 6X10 so folder in half it is 6X5.. all I did was cut the sizes 6x10 and put the all together..

I got (7) 6x10 sheets.. now with my sewing machine I went down the middle of the sheets.. this way you can easily fold it on the stitch.. I added a band of canvas to the middle to make it more secure.. I left the edges of the album raw.. I wanted it to have a natural rough edge.. with frays of material.
Now just grab whatever paints you have on hand.. if not the dollarstore always has great acrylic paints.. if you have mists use them too.. it looks amazing on canvas.. right now all I have is the one colour.. I need to find the tutorial on how to make my own.. I know it was posted somewhere.. I am sure you tube might have a video.. they have everything. Gather your stamps , brushes or sponges. Now just start to create.. there is not any right way to do it.. just do what you want and paint your heart away.. It is all about what inspires you!!


I will also be doing a page every couple of days.. so make sure you check back to see what the other pages have on them.. I have some ideas of what I would like to in my head already..

I hope you will try this too. I think It will be a great project to look back on in a couple of years.. I love to paint and stamp so this is just perfect to blend the two together. Thanks for dropping in!!

The PlayDate Cafe..PDCC36

There is a new challenge up for The PlayDate Cafe.. challenge PPCC36 this is my second time doing the challenges.. I was invited to post one of my canvas projects for the last playdate PDCC35 and got on for the Fabulous 4.. oh exciting.. well this week they have a challenge with this in mind.. colour combo's courtesy of Marthastewart.com



Beautiful selection of colours .. and some of the design team members used birdcages so if you have any and I was lucky to find one ,but had to search and search.. then realized I had this fabulous Melody Ross Image from the Unity Stamp Company kit that I got last month.. I love it in pink.. perfect for this challenge.


Using some old Scenic route stickers and that very pretty in pink Maya Road flower and some bling.. this is what I did.. I wanted some spots of pink.. but had no misting spray.. so I just used the end of a paint brush and some pink acrylic paint and dabbed it on.. easy and effective .. love how it turned out.

FWF.. Simply Scrapping with copics and Unity!!

Happy Friday.. I am doing this post early because I am sitting on the Beach.. enjoying Summer at it's best!! It is a early rise to get there for a decent time before the weekend traffic starts. I am bound to take hundreds of photo's and so glad that we have some friends and family joining us... and speaking of Family.. today is Friends With Flair Fridays.. over on the Unity Blog... I have done this great wall canvas hanging.. using a challenge from a while ago on the Ippity Blog and on that Hop.. Karen
did this amazing faux wood grain background.. I decided to do it in a frame for this canvas art.. using Unity stamps and with Copic Markers for a challenge over in the Copic Group Lesson 12 at Simply Scrapping Crafts. I love how it turned out and the colouring with the copics on a different surface other than paper.. IF you go check out the group you will see what the other designers came up with as well.. it's HERE. As you all know I love Using my Unity stamps and this was a fun project to do and the colouring in the copics made it look like a painted surface to me.. very cool.. and this is one of my favourite single stamps... He who Plants A Tree...you can find it HERE.. for purchase. I have used this alot on different project and cards.. love it so much!!

The Greeting Farm.. Lynda's Sketch!!

Hello Thursday... Today at the Greeting Farm we have this great sketch by our very own Lynda.. isn't is great.. I love it!! Thanks Lynda.



I decided to do a Male theme layout.. seeing that I have a growing boy.. well he is a Man really, he will be 15 years old on the 9th.. where did the time go!! I think I need to scrap him more.. if he would only let me take his photo .. these days I have to sneak up on him to capture a shot. Teenagers.. but he is a good one I know I am very blessed to have him around. So I will be happy with the back of his head or a pillow in front of his face or shots of him running fast away from the camera.. hehe.. honestly this is what he does! But on to my layout.

Using some papers for the Road Trip OA papers and some of the stickers as well this is what I did..

Jump.. Sweet Memories.

The Details.. I used the Sweet Memories stamp.. in black ink and then outlined the paper..

for the stamped stitch parts.. I used the stitch criss cross stamp.. in white I stamped it and on another sheet of scrap paper I stamped it out this way I was left with a faded image.. you see it but I didn't want it to really stand out .. almost like a watermark look.. I love how it turned out..

Creative Promplt.. My Turn to Challenge You!!

HI Everyone.. I have a challenge over on the Creative Prompts 4U blog today!! Make sure you make it over there to check out all the designers and what they came up with.

Here is the photo inspiration challenge.. can you tell I am in the mood for Beaches , water and sand.. a dream holiday would be great.. but for now I settle for the Beaches and Parks around my area.. a little piece of heaven I say..

So my challenge is to use this photo to inspire you.. it can be the colours, the beach theme , even the photo itself.. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Love this view

Using alot of Different Sassafrass Lass paper and stickers I came up with this layout.. I used the photo as my inspiration.. as I go to the parks at the beach I love taking pictures of the views I see.. not only the kids.. and this is just one of the places I love to go.. Frenchman's Bay in Ajax, Ontario.. it is like going to a different world.. just 10 minute drive away from the house I couldn't ask for more.. I grab a coffee and go for a long morning walk.. just staring at the view in front of me.. it is glorious.. I love where I live and this is just one reason why.
